Applications for 2021 are closed. Please check back again for summer 2022.
The QU-REACH Program at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is a ten-week summer research program run by the Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) located on UNM’s Main Albuquerque campus.
The 2021 program ran from June 1 – August 6, 2021. Read about it in the UNM Newsroom article, New summer program in quantum technologies provides undergrad research opportunities.
Applications to the program are welcome from all undergraduate students currently attending any College or University in the state of New Mexico who are interested in Quantum Technologies research. Participants will receive a stipend of $6,000 for the summer and are expected to cover their food and housing from the stipend. Students from historically-excluded groups in STEM (including women, Hispanic, American Indian, and Black students) and students who are the first generation in their families to attend college are strongly encouraged to apply.
Projects are available in a broad range of disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) related to the three cornerstones of Quantum Technologies (Quantum Sensing, Quantum Communications, Quantum Computing). This is a face-to-face program. COVID safety practices will be in place. More information is available in the FAQ page.
